Daily entry

Today, even though that the video can only be 5 minutes and cannot be filmed at school. I can still use the same idea and film footage at my apartment building. There are few students who attend Stonehill therefore i can communicate with them and take footage.

I have finished part of my video:
so far i have:
- created the begining with the images of Facebook and Tumblr
-I used facts and stastics to back up my ideas, also in my video i have use of imagery.
- i have also created my Tumblr part of my documentary. (With footage of Tumblr images of Youtube)

What i did today:

TODAY i interviewed Elin and Rose using the following questions:

Do you have ....
  • Facebook
  • or Tumblr
How many times a day do you use facebook?

How many times a day do you use social media?

Do you think that you are addicted?

FOOTAGE CAN NOT BE USED DUE TO THE FACT THAT THERE IS NO FILMING TO BE DONE DURING SCHOOL HOURS OR ON SCHOOL PROPERTY.

This Weeks Goals

20th -25th February 2012

This week I plan on:

·        Interviewing a few of the people I sent the email to
·        Research videos editors I can use to edit my footage
·        Test out ways I can move the video files onto the computer and which video editor I can use

What i completed:
I asked a few students who live in my apartment building if i could use them in my documentary. I got permission from 2 people, one from a M2 student: Dong Guen and another from an M4 student: Kabir Chug. I have finished part 1 of my documentary.

My next goal is to finish the second part to my documentary.

DESIGN CYCLE: (final)

1-7  second clip a of flashing images including Facebook and
Tumblr. The name titles for instance, I found a picture of Tumblr sign flashing in such a manner it hurts the eyes. TUMBLR>FACEBOOK. Then a black screen appears, dramatic music, ADDICTIONS. THIS IS THE OPENING TITLE.

--> I EDITED this idea. In my documentary it begins with tense music, fading in a "old film" transition picture of Facebook and another of Tumblr. Then eventually sliding into a text that says "ADDICTION"

1 minute-2 minutes: this time will be used to show pictures and facts about Tumblr. Including a song that a guy made.

30 seconds – 1 minute have a few interviews pop up with students from around this school. (Have a picture of the sent email at the start  (possibly) The students who have replied to my email) (this idea did not work out due to i could not move the videos off the camera onto the computer)

30 seconds IT affects all ages ask teachers (after 10 seconds of speaking, a picture of them on the website pops up whilst they are talking) (taking video footage in school isn't allowed therefore i could not use this idea)

2 minutes explaining Facebook and how it is addicting:
This include facts and statics about Facebook.
I found a voice taping of a guy asking people questions about social media this i included at the end of the second part of my documentary.

== Random fact: Q: When FaceBook, MySpace and Twitter merge into one super social networking company what will it be called?
A: They will call it “My Twit Face.”

Facebook causes 1 in 5 Divorces

Over 350million people suffer from Facebook Addiction Disorder

Facebook users have lower grades than non-users

Alright.. more than 6 billion minutes are spent on Facebook each day (worldwide). That is twice as much as the time spent on Google.

Facebook is now valued at approximately $80 billion

== Random fact: After a series of 10 cardiopulmonary-related deaths in Internet cafés and a game-related murder, South Korea considers Internet addiction one of its most serious public health issues.

I FORGOT about the above facts hence i did not include them in my documentary.

I SEPERATED MY DOCUMENTARY INTO TWO PARTS:
The first part is Tumblr
and the second  is Facebook.

Ideas that i can put into my documentary

I thought of the idea to interview all ages, however, i was to focus more on teenagers as that is that (audience) and age group my documentary is targeted at.
